How to Use an Eyewash Station.

Immediate Action:

1) As soon as exposure occurs, the person affected should quickly move to the nearest eyewash station.

  1. Activate the Eyewash Station: Most eyewash stations have a foot pedal or a hand lever. Activating it should create a steady flow of water or saline solution.
  2. Position Yourself: Bend over the eyewash basin, keeping your eyes open and facing the water flow.
  3. Rinse Thoroughly: Water should flush the eyes for at least 15 minutes. Ensure that the water rinses all areas of the eye, including under the eyelids.
  4. Seek Medical Attention: After thorough rinsing, it’s crucial to seek medical attention, even if the irritation appears minor.
